Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the area, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
